This is my Tablet of Stars, the Returners of my rebellion, and if we want to get vulgar, I suppose they are my Gullwings as well. Ugh. Please don't tell them I said that. I'm lucky to be affiliated with a group of such talented people and each of their domains has something unique to offer.
Alex at the Blind Seer network- You might remember Alex from her former domains. Now she's returned with another Suikoden flavored domain, but her sites still have the same dedication to quality content. Of course, I'm especially attached to the faaabulous Locke site- I'm a sucker for him like that. But there are equally impressive shrines to characters from gems like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IX. Plus, her upcoming sites are making me quiver with anticipation. And she also has a really awesome name, eh?
Alexis at the Synthetic Divinity network- Completing the similarly named Final Fantasy VI fan affiliate trio, we have Alexis. She contributes some much needed Setzer shrinage to the internet, in the delicious original flavor rather than that pale Kingdom Hearts imitation. She has a Laguna site too, and other tributes to the likes of FFIV and Xenogears. Dedication to lesser-known games is something I admire a lot in a webmaster, and Alexis definitely has that merit badge to add to her copious other laurels. (My strange respect for the Xenogears fandom, vocabulary-improving domain name and crazy-awesome header CSS stylin's included.) She also hosts and admins my favorite message board, Amphisbena.
Chloé at the Flora Fleur network-- Chloé appreciates irony, consumptives, and Edgar. Those things could almost substitute for the Holy Trinity of Alex. She's a real fun person to share interests with, I've had a lot of fun seeing her play FFVI, and uh, she has good taste in music. (Well, I like what she's sent me, at any rate.) She's full of interesting stories about Jesuits with gun-arms. Anyway, her sites sparkle with her sense of humor and personality, and therefore you should visit them.
Daimira at the Dreamteller network-- Daimira is pretty much a web institution. She's an amazing writer, and her collective betrays a capacity for excellent shrine making, book-ranting, and wallpaper creating. Not to mention the gorgeous layouts she always comes up with. If you want to be distracted for hours, in a good way, visit A Drop of Color. If you want to see some fantastic shrinage, there's Untroubled or Redemption. Her domain actually makes me want to learn ancient oriental board games. And it sometimes features Isshin, which is always a plus.
Desiree at the Soliloquise network- Desiree is all positive aspects of obsessive fangirling embodied. She's one of those people who makes crazy gushing about things she loves genuinely interesting and fun to read. Her dedication to the series has gotten me through four Wheel of Time books. To add to that, skills as a webdesigner are second to none, and she uses her own amazing art quite often in her designs, so hats off to her in that respect. Her domain stands as testament to what a personal network can be- full of personality, and, uh, evil.
Emma at the Pants network- Emma's a frequent parter in crime 'round these parts. She also happens to have the best taste in game charactes since ever. Kain? The Turks? She also runs a wonderful shrine resource, which is something that would require constant updating without the use of scripts, something I could never do. Seriously, her dedication to quality shrines to forgotten characters and less-popular series is quite evident, and besides that, she's a really nice person. Our Kain sites are destined to be life-partners in much the same way or domains were destined to be together.
Janice at the Lost Memories studio- I've been familiar with Janice's lovely network for some time, but recently I've gotten to know her a lot better. Her sites show a dedication to content, design and Hitsugaya. She has this wonderful unique taste in colorschemes- just see how she uses grey- but she's also one of the nicest people I've met. She and Emma in tandem converted me to the Bleach fandom quite successfully. A wonderful and unique domain run by a similarly adjectived webmistress, certainly worth your time.
Linh at the SIT DOWN, SHUT UP, AND DRINK YOUR GODDAMN TEA network- Linh's collective is a wonderland of games you need to play, games I need to play, and games I really want to play but can't because Square-Enix is taking its sweet time with the localization. Of special note to my particular obsessions is the best little Edgar tribute in cyberspace, because he is totally the pimp king of my heart, and there's also that Sydney person she seems to care a lot about. But all of her sites are entertaining and/or come with some sort of amusing headgear, so visit and enjoy.
Nao at the Respect Faerietales Plz network- Nao always makes these elegant, simple-but-not-simplistic layouts, and it's a lot of fun to just and look. But no! There's also a great deal of insightful content to read. Her high-quality Cloud shrine is probably the most well-known, but I'm pretty fond of Nightfalling and The Eighth as well. Also, I have it on good authority that this domain is not wearing any pants.
Nell at the Dark Sparrow network- I admire Nell more for her personality than her collective- she's truly one of the kindest and most friendly people I've had the good fortune to know. But her collective is pretty damn nice too. She has a huge network that spands the spaces between Lord of the Rings and Final Fantasy VIII, and a knack for organizing group projects like the amazing Balamb. She also ran the old messageboard Tigermilk, reborn as Amphisbena.
Rydia at the Shinjite network-The quality of the content this domain houses is truly inspiring. Every site is wonderfully in-depth. Of course, the webmistress has a real aesthetic sensibility as well, but I think the content is what really overwhelmed me on my first visit. You can just tell that Rydia cares a lot about her sites and the subjects she dedicates her sites too. I'm really looking forward to the Bleach site she's cooking up next. She's so fun to fangirl with!
Stacey Anne at the Peach Arrow network- How do I admire Stacey? Let me count the ways. Stacey has one of those websites that everybody knows of, has linked, and admires, because her dedication is so very evident. See Strife. Vogue. Gospel Decay. Her domain is filled with Content, with a capital C. She keeps her sites updated like whoa, and to top that off, she's a very nice person (despite her protests to the contrary!) And I haven't even mentioned her ability to make layouts all bright and snazzy. Plus, she agrees with me on pretty much everything gaming-related. Now, if only she would finish FFVI...
Stefi at the Diamond Dust network- When Stefi combined Final Fantasy VII and Hamlet in one of her layouts, I knew I had to talk to her. I'm glad I did, because she's a great person to talk to, rant with, and contemplate the inherent awesomeness of the Turks. All of her sites are wonderful, but I feel I need to single out Antihero, because sites like that turned my Squall hatred to a kind of grudging respect, and her Squall shrine has a unique personal perspective into her relationship with the character.
Tamisa at the Star-Stealing Girl network- Tamisa has a strong sense of the centered framey layout that I never quite got the hang of, a real dedication to making quality fanlistings with content, and the AP-laden school schedule that I avoided. So points to her. She also has one of my favorite character shrines in existance, Problematic, which is pretty much a textbook example of what a shrine ought to be. Her stuff's always a more-than-quality visit, and I'm proud to have her as one of my oldest affiliates.
It might seem like I have a lot of affiliates, and I do. This doesn't mean that I'm not really picky. I'm not actively searching for affiliates at the moment, but I'm hesitant to say that affiliation is closed. The other thing is, I affiliate with people more than I do with domains- I like my affiliates to be friends or at least long-term accquaintances. So, if you just email me out of the blue, it's not going to happen. Everyone seems to have different ways of managing affiliation- it's a very loose and flexible term, but this is how I see it.
